FAQs

  • Welcome to Runway. We recommend beginning with one of our beginner-friendly classes such as Align, Stretch & Reset, Triple A or Runway Mix. These classes introduce you to the reformer and our signature style in a supportive, guided way. If you have more complex injuries or specific needs, our team may recommend starting with a private session.

  • Not at all. Reformer Pilates is designed to meet you exactly where you are (it doesn’t matter how inflexible or unfit you are). Strength, flexibility and confidence develop naturally with consistent practice.

  • Yes. Align, Stretch & Reset, Triple A and Runway Mix are all suitable for beginners. Each class offers layered options so you can progress at your own pace.

  • Please arrive 10 minutes before your first class so we can show you the studio, introduce you to the reformer, and ensure you feel confident before class begins.

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Long hair should be tied back, jewellery removed, and bring a water bottle. Grip socks are required for hygiene and safety and are available for purchase in-studio.

The Runway DifferenCE →

  • Runway Pilates is a refined, experience-led studio with over a decade of expertise. For more than 10 years, we’ve set the standard for intelligent, results-driven Reformer Pilates long before it became a trend.

Our instructors are highly trained professionals who have completed extensive, in-depth Pilates education. This means you receive expert guidance, precise verbal cueing, and hands-on corrections that ensure every movement is safe, effective, and tailored to how your body moves.

We believe Pilates should improve your strength, posture, mobility, and longevity, not just leave you sweaty. Our classes are thoughtfully programmed, taught on high-quality reformer beds, and delivered in a boutique environment that values precision over volume and quality over shortcuts.

This is Pilates done properly. For real results, better movement, and a stronger body for life.

  • Yes, where appropriate. Our instructors provide both verbal and hands-on guidance to support alignment, technique, and results — always with your comfort and consent in mind.

CLasses & Results →

  • Each class has a distinct focus from alignment and mobility to strength and flow, whilst always delivering a full-body workout. Our team is happy to help you choose the right class for your goals. Please see here for more in-depth explanation of our class styles.

  • With consistent practice, clients see an improvement in their posture, a stronger core, increased muscle tone, and greater body awareness often within a few weeks.

    As Joseph Pilates famously said:

“In 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, in 20 you’ll see the difference, and in 30 you’ll have a whole new body.”

  • For optimal results, we recommend 2–3 sessions per week. Consistency is key, but even one session per week offers meaningful benefits.

  • Yes. Reformer Pilates is highly effective for improving posture and core strength and supporting spinal health. It also builds lean muscle, which supports long-term weight management.

  • Yes. All classes must be booked via our app. You can book from 5 minutes before a class starts (if space allowed) through to 21 days in advance for our membership clients and 10 days in advance for all class pack clients.

    • 12-Hours Notice: Life happens! If you need to cancel, just do it via our app at least 12 hours before class starts, and you're all good – no charge.

    • Late Cancels (under 12 Hours): If something pops up and you cancel within 12 hours of your class start time, that class credit will be used. This helps us keep spaces available for everyone.

    • No Show - As we only have a small number of reformer beds available per class, please ensure you late cancel via the app to ensure a no show fee of £5 isn’t automatically added to your account.

Safety & SUITABILITY →

  • Yes. Reformer Pilates can be safely adapted for most injuries and recovery stages. At Runway Pilates, the key consideration is whether a group class or a private session is most appropriate for you.

Our highly trained instructors offer precise verbal cueing and hands-on corrections to ensure movements are modified safely and effectively. For some injuries or early-stage rehabilitation, we may recommend starting with a private session so the program can be fully tailored to your body and recovery needs. Once appropriate, you can transition into group classes with confidence.

Your safety, progress, and long-term movement quality always come first.

  • Yes. Pre & Post Natal clients are welcome. Please notify your instructor before class so appropriate modifications can be offered.
